Cloisonne ware is a craft in which a glassy glaze is baked onto a metal base (mainly Copper plate) at a high temperature of 800℃.
The word “cloisonne” is a Buddhist term meaning beautiful colors and brilliance, as if scattered with seven jewels.
Keiko Sera is a remarkable cloisonne ware artist who has elevated the delicate cloisonne ware, which Japanese people love, to a contemporary art form of Arts & Crafts, using traditional techniques but with her own unique style.
