This unique piece is part of the “Utsuwa Dinosaur Park” series by Japanese ceramic artist Maharu Kumagai, crafted at Mamoru Kiln in Fukuoka, Japan.

The dinosaur’s head and forelimbs extend boldly from the side of the cup, while scale-like textures wrap around the body.
It captures the wild energy of a prehistoric creature—transforming everyday tableware into a usable sculpture.

Deep Blue Glaze Inspired by Ancient Forests

The mug is finished with a rich blue glaze, subtly blended with green and black tones.
Depending on the light and viewing angle, the colors shift and reveal new expressions—
evoking the skin of a dinosaur running through an ancient forest.
