Oni and Dragon Rice Bowl
Japanese Hasami Ware Porcelain
Add a touch of Japanese folklore to your daily table.
This handmade rice bowl features a lively scene of a red Oni (Japanese demon) gripping the horns of a flying dragon, racing through the clouds. In Japanese tradition, Oni are not just fearsome figures—they are believed to ward off bad luck and restore strength and energy.
Crafted in Hasami, Nagasaki, a pottery town with over 400 years of history, this porcelain bowl is hand-painted by Rakugama Studio. The bright red Oni and dynamic dragon stand out beautifully against the smooth white porcelain, while subtle brush textures reveal the warmth of handmade craftsmanship.
Designed for everyday use as well as display, this bowl turns an ordinary meal into a small moment of joy and imagination. It is a perfect choice for lovers of Japanese culture, folklore, and unique handmade tableware—and makes a thoughtful gift.

About Hasami Ware
Hasami ware is a traditional Japanese porcelain that has been produced in Nagasaki since the Edo period. Known for its durability and refined white porcelain, Hasami ware has long been part of everyday Japanese life. Today, contemporary artists like Yoshimura continue the tradition by blending classic craftsmanship with playful, modern storytelling.
Each piece is created to bring warmth, charm, and a sense of connection to the table—celebrating not just food, but the moments shared around it.
