This mug is handmade by Kinya Watanabe, a flag-bearer of modern craft. The simple form of the mug is highly refined, and the drawing that looks like a scribble but is actually a search for optimal values is a work of high perfection. Short legs are formed in three places on the bottom.

The body of the mug, which has a mouth rim, is made of durable porcelain using high-grade pottery stone containing 50% Amakusa from Kyushu, while the handle is made of non-slip ceramic.

The dried, unglazed fabric is coated with a water-repellent agent, and lines are freely scratched off with a silk needle. The lines are then inlaid with a pigment of Kuresu, which Mr. Watanabe has uniquely blended, to create a delicate yet lifelike drawing.
This simple yet sophisticated mug will surely add color to any space you occupy. It is also a stylish gift item.

The products we sell are purchased by the owner of the store, who is a connoisseur of ceramics and crafts, after thoroughly examining the products. In this sense, we are distinct from souvenir stores in many tourist destinations in Japan.
