About the Artist – Iroe Yu

Iroe Yu is a celebrated Kutani ware studio located in Hakusan City, Ishikawa Prefecture.

Led by ceramic artist Yuko Odaka and a team of talented female artisans, the studio creates pottery that combines traditional Kutani techniques with a gentle, modern artistic style.

If classic Kutani ware resembles an oil painting, Iroe Yu's works are often compared to watercolor paintings—light, transparent, expressive, and full of warmth.

Every piece is painted entirely by hand, making each mug naturally unique.
