About the Artist – Iroe Yu
Iroe Yu is a renowned Kutani ware studio located in Hakusan City, Ishikawa Prefecture.
Led by ceramic artist Yuko Odaka and a team of talented female artisans, the studio creates pottery that feels refreshingly modern while honoring centuries of Kutani tradition.
If classic Kutani ware resembles an oil painting, Iroe Yu's works are often compared to watercolor paintings—light, transparent, and full of gentle charm.
Every design is painted entirely by hand, making each piece subtly unique.
The studio's philosophy is simple:
"Delicious food begins with beautiful tableware."
Their whimsical motifs—animals, flowers, fruits, forests, and seasonal landscapes—bring happiness into everyday life.
