Gold-infused glassware for extraordinary moments

A soft shimmer of gold rises gently from within—
This handcrafted sake cup, “Resonance of Gold”, is made by Iki Kobo, a glass studio in Munakata, Fukuoka, renowned for its refined contemporary take on traditional Hakata Bidoro glasswork.

The inside of the cup is lavishly lined with thick, high-quality gold leaf from Kanazawa, creating a luminous surface that reflects light with every movement. On the outside, a flow of black lines streams through clear glass, resembling elegant ink strokes dancing upon gold. As you tilt the cup, the reflection shifts subtly, revealing different expressions of light and shadow.

What is “Bidoro”?

Bidoro originates from the Portuguese word vidro (glass) and refers to Japan’s traditional mouth-blown glassmaking techniques.
Hakata Bidoro by Iki Kobo carries on this heritage—characterized by soft contours, natural waviness, and layered colors—while incorporating modern artistic expression. Their unique layered-glass method, officially designated as a Fukuoka Prefectural Traditional Craft, captures exquisite depth and brilliance within each piece.

Perfect Size for Enhancing Your Sake Experience

At approximately 7 cm in diameter, the cup fits comfortably in the hand and concentrates the delicate aroma of chilled sake.
The gold leaf softly illuminates the color of your drink, enriching both the visual and sensory experience.

A refined choice for celebratory occasions—or as an unforgettable gift for someone special.
